I build services for myself and my family, measure how they behave and improve what falls short in everyday use. Running another container is only the beginning.

An assistant connected
to my environment.

I connected a local language model to web search, Windows diagnostics, SSH, email and calendar tools. Open WebUI is the conversational interface; my own PC handles inference.

The interesting part was getting from “I don't have access” to a real tool call, with an actual result that I can verify.

My connection speed in Mbps, checked through measurements. Uptime Kuma tracks availability, MySpeed records throughput and Homepage brings the results together. I can investigate with data when the network feels slow.

02 / My approach

I like understanding
what runs underneath.

My professional work centres on Linux infrastructure, reliability and automation. I care about the whole chain: networking and storage, configuration, logs and the experience of the person using the system.

After hours, that same curiosity takes me into self-hosting, local AI, photography and 3D printing. I like testing an idea on my own hardware, understanding its limits and then building on it.

My home lab should make everyday life easier. It also gives me room to take an idea from a first script to a working service.

My background spans large private cloud environments, identity infrastructure, third-line support and operational automation. I combine day-to-day operations with root cause analysis.

Lead Infrastructure Specialist

Kyndryl

Operations for a Linux environment of 400–600 virtual machines. Azure Repos, Jenkins and Puppet, ELK logging, Hitachi HNAS storage, Qualys scanning and Kubernetes provisioning with ArgoCD. Logging and retention optimisation reduced log volume by 60% over three years despite infrastructure growth.

Less manual operation

Waking the PC on demand, improving GPU resource management and connecting more devices. Independent backups and restore testing for essential data are also on my list.
